Responsabilidades
Gabriela Retana performs a variety of activities that require a high level of linguistic proficiency, cultural awareness, and knowledge of international and technical terminology. She carries out all tasks necessary for the translation of official documents, reports, meeting proceedings, and other materials related to the work of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC), in both English and Spanish, ensuring consistency in terminology and style across publications and communications; and she provides language support to Commissioners, staff members, and delegates participating in the activities of the Commission.

Biografía
Ms. Retana is a national of Costa Rica. She has served as an interpreter with the IATTC since 2008, providing interpretation and translation services in support of the Commission’s meetings, scientific activities, and international cooperation efforts. She has been a Sworn Interpreter and Translator authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Republic of Costa Rica since February 1999. Through her extensive professional experience, she has developed expertise in technical, legal, financial, medical, and institutional translation and interpretation.
